ReBoat at ECOMONDO 2025
On Tuesday, November 4th, the ReBoat project was proudly represented at ECOMONDO 2025 in Rimini, Italy — one of Europe’s leading green technology expos — through the participation of Dr. Omar Maschi (CENTROCOT S.p.A.) in multiple collaborative activities promoting circularity and sustainable innovation.
At the workshop “Driving the Circular Transition in the EU: Recovering Value from Secondary Raw Materials”, jointly organised by ReBoat, Wood2Wood, CIRCULess, EcoReFibre, and BIO4EEB, Dr. Maschi contributed to discussions on cross-sectoral strategies for closing material loops in plastics, textiles, and wood. He presented ReBoat’s innovative approach to waste management in insular and coastal areas, highlighting the project’s mobile and modular recycling and reprocessing system — a floating facility designed to address fluctuating waste volumes linked to seasonal tourism, limited land availability, and logistical constraints.
Following the workshop, ReBoat, along with the other participating Horizon Europe projects, had the opportunity to participate in the ECOMONDO exhibition, through the International Solid Waste Association - ISWA booth and disseminate its material to all interested parties. This setting provided an opportunity to exchange knowledge, foster synergies, and introduce visitors to ongoing European initiatives aimed at advancing circularity, resource efficiency, and standardisation across sectors.
By integrating technological innovation, community engagement, and sustainable tourism principles, ReBoat supports the European Green Deal objectives and contributes to building resilient, inclusive, and circular economies across Europe’s islands and coastal regions.
