ReBoat at COP30

ReBoat at COP30

ReBoat proudly participated in COP30 (in Belém, Brazil, which took place from 10–21 November), through the contribution of our partner Gianni Chianetta, CEO of the Greening the Islands Foundation (GTI). Gianni took part in the session “Islands, Laboratories for Climate Adaptation & Sustainable Tourism in the Mediterranean” at the MED Pavilion, hosted by the Union for the Mediterranean.

During his intervention, our GTI partner, Gianni highlighted how ReBoat—together with complementary island-focused initiatives—is helping shape a new model of tourism in the Mediterranean: low-impact, circular, resilient and prepared for a changing climate.

He illustrated how ReBoat supports island destinations in:

  • Integrating circularity into tourism systems
  • Safeguarding natural ecosystems under growing environmental pressure
  • Developing innovative, mobile and community-driven solutions for waste and resource management

Mediterranean islands are rapidly becoming living laboratories for climate-smart tourism, showing how agility, innovation and strong collaboration can accelerate climate adaptation.

ReBoat is honoured to contribute to this collective transformation—demonstrating that islands are not only on the frontlines of climate vulnerability, but also at the forefront of climate leadership.
