The Open ReBoat stakeholder Meeting on Sustainable Tourism Successfully Held in Corfu
On 20 March 2026, the ReBoat project hosted an Open Stakeholder Meeting on Sustainable Tourism at the Region of Ionian Islands Event Hall (Old Courthouse) in Corfu.
The event brought together local authorities, tourism professionals, businesses, environmental organisations, academics, students, and citizens to explore sustainable tourism in island regions.
During the session, the ReBoat consortium presented its vision and circular economy approach, showcasing how materials such as plastics and textiles can be transformed into valuable new products. The importance of stakeholder collaboration was a key focus throughout.
Participants actively engaged in discussions, generating ideas for joint initiatives, including beach clean-ups, collaborative events, and the promotion of the ReBoat concept through hotel networks.
The meeting highlighted a strong commitment to cooperation and marked an important step toward building a more circular and sustainable tourism model in the Ionian Islands.
